Blog 5 - Interview 1 Reflection
1. What is the most important thing I learned from the interview? Is there anything I would do differently for other interviews?
- I would most definitely ask a lot more questions about what i can do to further my knowledge and experience in the industry. This will allow me to out myself out there within companies.
2. Did I get additional resources and contacts? What is the most useful? Why?
- Yes, after my interview i talked with my mentor regarding who else i can talk to. He referred me to his fellow co-worker. He also sent me various resources i can use and read to have a bit more understanding.
3. What makes my interviewee qualified to help me?
- my mentor knows how to do almost all positions from designer to accounting in this industry. He worked his way up and since then he has always had a passion for creative designing.

Blog 3 First Interview Preparation
1. Who do you plan to interview? Why?
- I plan to interview my mentor, Daniel Nakama and a FIDM alumni. I would be interviewing my mentor for the film part of marketing and a FIDM alumni for apparel marketing. They would each help me to understand the process and basic elements to marketing in each field of work.
2. Five questions will be assigned to all seniors to ask. What additional questions do you plan to ask? Ask open-ended questions. What are open-ended questions?
- What weaknesses have you overcome when accomplishing difficult tasks?
- Describe your typical workday.
- How do you determine your priorities?
- Tell me about a time when you organized a project where your directions were vague?
- What experiences led you to choose your career path?
- What experience do you hope to gain from this position?
- Given a situation when you disagree with your supervisor, how would you deal with it?
- What challenges are you looking for in a job?
- What is the most difficult task you have undertaken?
- What about your job gets you out of bed in the morning?
- How important are promotions and advancement to you?
- What is important to you in a job?
- When you are under a lot of stress, what is your typical reaction?
- Have you ever made an error in judgment that you had yo address with your employer? How did you handle it?
- What motivates you to be successful in your job?
